General Questions 

What is Krav Maga? 

Krav Maga is a military self-defense and fighting system, combining techniques from various martial arts like boxing, wrestling, judo, and karate. It is renowned for its focus on real-world situations and efficiency. 

What martial arts do you teach?

Our gym offers classes in Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai, boxing, and judo. Each discipline provides its unique benefits, from striking and grappling to comprehensive self-defense techniques. 

Do I need prior martial arts experience to join?

No prior experience is necessary. We welcome members of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners.

What should I wear/bring to my first class?

Comfortable athletic wear that allows for full movement is recommended. For specific classes like judo or BJJ, a gi may be required.  We do train barefoot.   Don’t forget a water bottle and towel.


Membership, Pricing, and Classes 

How do I choose the right class for me?

Think about your goals (self-defense, fitness, competition) and try different classes to see what fits best. Our instructors can also provide recommendations based on your interests.

Are there classes for children and teenagers?

Yes, we offer kids’ programs in three age groups: Mighty Munchkins (4-6 years), Junior Varsity (6-10 years), and Varsity (11-16 years), focusing on Krav Maga, BJJ, and sparring.

What is the schedule for classes?

We have a flexible schedule with classes available in the morning, and evening. Please check our website or contact us for the most up-to-date schedule. 

Do you offer private lessons?

Private lessons are available for personalized instruction tailored to individual or small group goals. 

How much does membership cost?

Do I have to sign a contract?

We offer both contract and no-contract membership options to suit different preferences. 

How much should I expect to spend on equipment?

Initial costs for basic gear can range from $160 to $200, depending on the martial arts you practice.

Can I try a free class?

We welcome new members to try a free class and experience our gym culture firsthand.

How often should I train?

Training frequency depends on personal goals and fitness levels; starting with 2-3 times a week is generally recommended.


Equipment and Safety 

I don’t have equipment; do you have loaners?

Yes, we provide loaner equipment for those trying out classes for the first time. 

How do you ensure safety during training?

Safety protocols are strictly enforced by our experienced instructors to maintain a safe training environment for everyone.

What is the etiquette in class?

Respect for instructors and peers is essential, including punctuality, cleanliness, and proper attire. Disruptive behavior is not tolerated.

Is there a community or social aspect to your gym?

No, we don’t have locker rooms and shower in our facility.
